The upper mids are too forward for my taste. 8-12Khz needs to EQed down to make it bearable. I think this will work well with tubes. The bass focused pads do increase noticeable bass but does not lower treble. Headphones are somewhat comfortable. The stock cable is very very stiff and too thick and heavy for 2025.

There are definite areas of improvement. Lower mids felt distant and fuzzy.

Great to see that replacement earpads are included in the package as well as two good quality cables, one 4.4 and one 3.5mm. The replacement earpads without any perforations seem to add a little more bass.

Happy to have them but haven’t tried out yet. I’m very happy with the headphones overall though

What seemed like pointless feedback changed when I saw the words "no perforations". This got me thinking. What could this possibly achieve. Apart from sweaty ears that is? It had to be an improvement to the sound but what. The ring update to prevent bass leakage had me think that bass might permeate the ear cushions through the hundreds of perforations, which make the cushions slightly more transparent to lower frequencies. Only one way to find out, swap the ear cushions/pads. Bingo! A subtle increase in bass power and unless I'm imagining it, a slightly deeper bass extension. Not a huge difference but definitely notable. There may be a tiny trade off around 850hz where certain tones on some tracks sound a little bit more shouty or harsh. Those frequencies being more likely to be reflected toward the ear, instead of being partly absorbed by the perforations. This could increase treble harmonics very slightly improving transients. Overall an excellent upgrade. Well thought through. Can the i5 be improved? You just did improve them...

I purchased the Fosi Audio i5 Headphones complete with the replacemnet earpads via the Kick Staert campaign and have thoroughly enjoyed using them. With the new ear pads not only do I have the pleasure of listening to the sparkling highs and revcealing midtowns, but can also really appreciate the deep but natural bass. Thoroughly recommended.

The headphones are amazing. After unpacking them, I was surprised by the size, but after putting them on and especially after connecting them to my A&K SP2000P, the concert began. The headphones can also be used with a portable player without any problems.

I like them more with ventilation holes, they sound more round. The pads without holes sound more empty but I guess each with their own.
