Fosi Audio Merak CD-Player

Ce petit lecteur cd est vraiment genial!!!
La qualite de construction est la, tout l’appareil est en aluminium (sauf la palque du dessous qui est en plastique, et le dessus en acrylique transparent), de plus il est très compacte.

Pour ce qui est du son, il est vraiment bon! Le DAC a l’interieur fait tres bien son job, le son est tres detaillé tout en restant neutre et non aggressif. Il est tres plaisant à écouter.
L’ampli casque aussi est plutot bon et puissant, j’ai pus tester plusieurs casques dessus et tous sonnent bien et assez fort (le max que j’ai testé c’est un casque a 120ohms).

Petit plus pour la telecommande vraiment pratique, qui est plutot rare pour les lecteurs cd de cette gamme!

Seul petit point négatif, la fonction pour ripper les CD sur clé USB ne fonctionne pas... J'ai essayé une bonne quinzaine de fois, avec plusieurs clés usb différentes et de capacité différentes.

En somme, si vous cherchez un lecteur cd pour chez vous, ne cherchez pas plus loin, ce lecteur possede toutes les fonctionnalités essentielles tout en etant joli est en ayant des performances vraiemnt excellentes pour le prix!

Great little cd player, using it as a transport on my main system and I can’t fault it, great build for the money and it’s got a remote.

Very happy with the Merak but out of the box the motor wouldn't spin up. Tried a couple of power adapters (not supplied with the product) and still nothing. Carried out the hard reset procedure I found online (not mentioned in the manual) and it worked. Now the good stuff. It's packaged like a £500 player, feels very nice quality and the sound is excellent through my Wiim ultra. It annoyingly cuts the first second of each track but I can live with that for the price and the remote is cheap and basic but functional. Overall well worth the price but a few niggles hence 4 stars.

Very good build quality. There is room for improvement regarding playback from USB. There is no option to play only an album or I can't choose the right option.

Nettes kleines Gerät, nutze ich ab und zu, um mal wieder eine von meinen alten CD‘S zu hören, da ich überwiegend nur noch streame. Dafür reicht der Merak vollkommen aus!

Fosi Merak is a great CD player that offers very good sound quality for the price. It feels well made, performs reliably, and delivers excellent value. A great choice if you want good quality without spending a lot.

Very nice

Lovely device, it is solidly built and doesn't move around when putting a disc in. It's size perfect for the limited space I have. I can't comment on the volume slider and headphones out as I am using the optical out, but overall I am very satisfied.

I would just be happy to have a lid that closes safely instead of just falling down. Still haven't tested all the functions, but the player is nice and fits everywhere even when your desk is cluttered.

I don't understand how such an affordable device can produce such great sound. This really is a hi-fi player. I love the premium look, the silent motor, and the fact that it doesn't have a built-in battery. Finally, there's a small movable (not portable) device that you can plug directly into a power outlet without having to worry about a failing battery eventually making it unusable.

My only complaint is that you can't change folders on MP3 CDs. The remote has two unused N/A buttons that could be assigned as F+/F- folder navigation buttons. I hope a future firmware update will address this issue.

Fantastic to be able to listen to my CDs again. Paired up with by Head phone amp the sound is amazing!

The Merak is exactly what I was looking for. A compact cd player without fuzz to connect to my old Harman Kardon Soundstick III. It works great and also fits the aesthetic of the set with the transparent lid. I have been having fun playing my 20 years old cd collection. Only one minor fault, the lid doesn’t soft close…I would have liked that.

didnt like the fact that you cant control die output volume on the fosi merak if u connect it to active speakers. so it sounded terrible conected via the line out output you could hear a heavy static noise. overall i like the design and that it doesnt have a battery. but that i had to connect it vio the headphone output is a bummer it kind ruins the aesthetic lol and that it doesnt automatically turn the screen off after some inactivity is also kinda weird lol so there is definitifel yroom for improvement even tho overall its not bad

Fudging brilliant firm. As an 80 year old pensioner in the Uk, I wondered just how I'd find the firm to deal with. Only bought a headphone amplifier.....but the Guys even e mailed me back to say I'd missed a reduction in price,so they knocked that off. Arrived quite quickly bearing in mind where it came from. And to paraphrase an advert here in the Uk.....The little amp did exactly what it said on the tin (box).

Saving up now (pensioner remember) for the Merak Cd Player.

I'm a miserable old bugger,but this firm gets the highest praise I can offer.
