I suppose I will start with what I like about this product:
The build quality is phenomenal, the volume wheel is lovely to use, and has a great torque requirement, the Bluetooth is reliable, and has good range, and I absolutely adore the form factor.
However, the sound quality is horrendous, and this isn't me being a particular audiophile, this is simply put, a bad product. At the end of the day, this is a DAC, and whilst it is a gorgeous device, with amazing build quality, its performance as a DAC is difficult to use. The primary issue with it is that it has an extremely loud noise floor, that does not change no matter the volume it is set at, it makes using it difficult and unenjoyable. Again, this is exaggeration, it is genuinely unlistenable as this buzzing is so loud.
I suppose if you like white/brown noise you'd love this, but frankly I regret buying it, and if returning it wasn't a hassle, I'd have done so immediately.
I love FOSI, and I love all the other products I have of theirs - IM4. I5, Vol20 - but I cannot in good faith suggest the N3 to anyone, and it is am absolute shame.

I love it very punchy I put on Transfomers almost blew my head k like the bass the treble and and dilogue are very forward it can be sharp but it tuned super aggressive great for music or movies especially horror

Very well built and solid feeling. Better form and functionality (w/ analog inputs) than the IfI Hip Dac it replaced, with only one complaint. Noise - a lot for a battery powered device - makes it less enjoyable to use with IEM like Zero 2 or sensitive headphones. For less sensitive headphones it’s a perfectly capable portable device

The headphone cable adapter for my iPhone became too touchy, disconnecting and generating noise. I got the N3 to replace that. Then I realized my upgraded motherboard had Bluetooth, which I never used for audio before, and thus I am able to play music from my PC, over headphones, as I walk around the house. The audio quality is excellent. Battery life is at least 12 hours. Pairing works very well. From the PC the range is at least 150 ft. There are $15 and $20 counterparts for sale, but they're cheap plastic with very limited battery life. This device feels more solid than a typical cellphone, no heavier, fits in a small pocket and does an excellent job of everything I expected from it.

I am generally very happy with this unit. It’s solidly and handsomely built, doesn’t make annoying loud beeps, and has full-sounding low frequencies (I have a number of Bluetooth receivers that can’t drive low-impedance devices such as headphones or ear buds without skimping heavily on the bass). I really like having a rotary (analog) volume control. My only complaint is that I hear a fair amount of hiss when no signal is present.

For the price the N3 can’t be beat. Distance, battery life, sound quality and volume level are all outstanding. Ive owned many little BT adapters before, but none of them were near the quality of this guy. This is my first fosi purchase, but I will definitely be purchasing more after buying this. Pure quality. 👍🏻
